Margot Robbie

Margot Robbie is an Australian actor and producer, born July 2, 1990. She got her start in 2008 on the long-running Australian soap opera “Neighbours,” playing series regular Donna Freedman until 2011. After relocating to America, Robbie starred in the short-lived ABC series “Pan Am” and landed her breakout role in Martin Scorsese’s 2013 film “The Wolf of Wall Street,” starring alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. The next year, Robbie founded her own production company, LuckyChap Entertainment, with the mission of producing women-focused projects. Robbie continued to build her film oeuvre in 2015 with “Focus” alongside Will Smith, “Suite Francaise” and a cameo as herself in “The Big Short.” In 2016, Robbie landed the role of Harley Quinn in the DC Comics movie “Suicide Squad,” and produced her first film through her production company: “I, Tonya,” which would go on to earn Robbie an Academy Award nomination for best actress. As Robbie continued to gain Hollywood recognition, her film roles included “Peter Rabbit” (2018), “Terminal” (2018), which she also produced; “Mary Queen of Scots” (2018), Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” (2019), “Bombshell” (2019) and “Birds of Prey” (2020), in which she reprised her role as Harley Quinn and also served as a producer. Robbie saw further producing success with “Promising Young Woman,” the 2020 black comedy thriller starring Carey Mulligan that won best original screenplay at the Oscars and was also nominated for best picture. More recently, Robbie played Harley Quinn for a third time in James Gunn’s standalone sequel “The Suicide Squad” (2021), and starred in David O. Russell’s period mystery “Amsterdam” (2022) as well as Damien Chazelle’s period drama comedy “Babylon” (2022) and Wes Anderson’s “Asteroid City” (2023). Robbie starred as Barbie alongside Ryan Gosling as Ken in Greta Gerwig’s film about the famous Mattel doll.
