Reneé Rapp

Reneé Rapp is an American singer-songwriter and actor best known for her 2023 album "Snow Angel" and starring in the "Mean Girls" musical movie. Born on Jan. 10, 2000 in North Carolina, Rapp attended the Northwest School of the Arts in Charlotte to further hone her musical theater skills. In 2018, Rapp won best performance by an actress at the Jimmy Awards, aka the National High School Musical Theater Awards, which caught the attention of the producers of Broadway's "Mean Girls." In March 2019, she took over the role of Regina George, which she played until Broadway shut down a year later due to COVID-19. Rapp was then cast in Mindy Kaling's HBO comedy "The Sex Lives of College Girls" as Leighton Murray, a confident rich girl coming to terms with her sexuality. While the show was well-received commercially and critically, Rapp began to turn her focus to music, signing with Interscope Records and releasing her first EP, "Everything to Everyone," in November 2022. Her casting as Regina George in a "Mean Girls" musical movie was announced a month later, with a premiere date of Jan. 12, 2024. In July 2023, it was revealed that Rapp would not be returning to "Sex Lives of College Girls" for its third season. Her first full-length album, titled "Snow Angel," was released in August 2023.
